Makaha Ridge-Kokee
PMRF Telemetry Equipment is primarily located at Makaha Ridge on the west side of Kauai at an elevation of about 1800 feet. Also located on the ridge are tracking radars and a SATCOM system. With the exception of one remaining GKR-8A Oceantronics has provide all of the tracking systems on this site as well as other subsystems and a sophisticated Switching Matrix. There are three 13 Meter and two 20 Ft. tracking systems all covered with radomes. Originally we provided four 14 Ft. systems two were installed on towers at Kokee and two were installed on concrete foundations at Makaha Ridge. These systems were later retrofitted to 20 Ft. and the two systems at Makaha Ridge were covered with Radomes.
