13 Meter Systems

To date Oceantronics has provided PMRF with three 13 Meter Antenna Systems located at Makaha Ridge. The first is a stand alone system located about 1500 feet below the telemetry building and is designated KAM 1. The second and third systems replaced 2 of the GKR-8A located on the ridge and re designated KAM 2 and KAM 3. Efforts of these systems include;

1. Systems Integrator/Supplier overall responsibility Oceantronics

2. Feeds, ESSCO/TCS

3. Reflectors by General Dynamics (RSI)

4. Pedestals by ESSCO and RPM

4. Servo by System Integrators

4. Controller By TCS

5. Down Converters and Multicouplers by Mudel

6. Track Receivers by Microdyne

7. Site work Oceantronics

Antenna Configuration

13- meter diameter precision solid surface parabolic reflector with prime focus L/S-Band Autotrack Feed/RF assembly

Tracking Scheme

L/S-Band – RADSCAN with simultaneous LHCP and RHCP combined track and data channel outputs.

Operating Frequency Ranges for L/S-Band Tracking and Data Reception

1435-1535 MHz, 1750-1850 MHz, 2200-2300 MHz, 2300-2400 MHz

G/T at 20 degrees above unobstructed horizon, clear sky condition, and 23 degree C ambient temperature and 30 K sky temperature.

Note: C-Band RADAR LP filter degrades the G/T performance by approximately 1.2 to 1.3 dB based on filter insertion loss of 0.5 dB.

1435 – 1535 MHz: +20.2 to + 20.6 dB/K

1750 - 1850 MHz: +21.6 to + 22.1 dB/K

2200 - 2300 MHz: +23.4 to + 23.7 dB/K

2300 - 2400 MHz: +23.7 to + 24.0 dB/K

Sidelobe Level - All Bands

£ -20dB down

S-Band Frequency Conversion Plan

4 Dual Channel Down Converters supplied

4 Dual Channel Multicouplers supplied

Receive Frequencies:1435-1535 MHz, 1750-1850 MHz, 2200-2300 MHz, 2300-2400 MHzData/Track Channel 1st IF: 215 - 315 MHz

S-Band Data/Track Channels

Two – Simultaneous RHCP and LHCP for polarization data reception and tracking
